A Local Authority v Y & Anor (Notification of The Father and Relatives) [2023] EWHC 2040 (Fam)

The High Court considers an application by the local authority under Part 19 Family Procedure Rules 2010 to not notify the child’s father or wider family as to the child’s existence due to risks posed by the father to the mother and her children.
The High Court reiterates the law in cases relating to notification and also stresses the urgency with which such cases should be dealt with, including flagging that applications of this nature should be marked as urgent when issued in the High Court.
