History

37 Park Square Chambers was founded in Leeds in the 1930s and established an excellent reputation throughout the North of England and beyond for a responsive and professional approach to providing legal services.

Initially, Chambers operated principally as a Criminal set, providing services in the local West Yorkshire area. Over time, the areas of work under-taken significantly expanded and widened, both geographically and in practice areas, to include Family, Civil and Property teams and served the whole of Yorkshire and Humberside.

At the end of July 2017, 37 Park Square Chambers became Spire Barristers, the Circuit’s and the North’s only specialist Family & Public Law Chambers. This decision was taken in response to and recognition of Chambers’ prominence, having one of the Circuit’s most formidable and dynamic family teams and to enable Chambers to offer to both Professional Clients and Members of Chambers a focused and dedicated service centred on excellence in the fields of Family and Public Law.

In 2024 and 2019, chambers were recognised at the Yorkshire Legal Awards, winning Chambers of the Year Awards.  In 2022 and 2018, chambers were also recognised at the National Family Law Awards, winning Regional Chambers of the Year.
