Colin has been with chambers since November 2010 in the role of Chambers Administrator and Finance Manager. With wide ranging responsibilities from chambers’ finance and financial budgeting and planning, through IT and facilities management to telephony and infrastructure, Colin brings a wealth of business experience, garnered from a very diverse range of different sectors. From executive training and managing departments at a well known London store, through logistics and warehouse management to his own business in the hire and building sectors, his final role before joining chambers was as Company Secretary and Financial Officer of a £13m turnover Marketing and Advertising company, brings considerable financial control and management experience to chambers. Coupled with management of the HR and compliance areas in his previous life, his experience is called on across chambers.
Key Responsibilities:
- With the Chambers’ Treasurer, is responsible for the strategic financial planning and management of chambers. This encompasses budgeting and forecasting, reporting and compliance.
- Is responsible for all aspects of facilities management and chambers infrastructure.
- Plays a key role in sustainability planning and monitoring.
- Actively supports Members and staff across all aspects of financial management, continually looking for ways in which chambers can add value to its’ services.
- Co-ordinates and oversees all aspects of Chambers billing and collection function.
- With the IT Manager, plan strategic IT changes, implementation and effectiveness. Monitors performance of IT partners.
- Organises training (compliance and other), subscriptions and memberships for chambers, members and staff.
- Provides administration of all pupillage areas from the recruitment process to pupil assistance.
In addition to the above, Colin is closely involved with all aspects of chambers, its’ members and staff. His high level of commitment to all of chambers life, attention to detail and ‘say Yes’ attitude make him an invaluable asset to the Spire family.
Outside Chambers, Colin’s interests include music, property, cars and DIY.
