Wellbeing at The Bar

Mental Health & Wellbeing at the Bar

On Saturday 15th October 2016, the Bar Council officially launched the “Wellbeing at the Bar” website and portal. It is an important resource to support members of the profession take on the daily challenges faced in practice and the psychological demands that it places on all of us.

Wellbeing at the Bar aims to:

  • Provide barristers and chambers’ personnel with the information and skills they need in order to stay well
  • Support members of the profession through difficulties that affect a barrister’s professional life
  • Provide assistance to those responsible for or who are supporting those in difficulty or crisis

Wellbeing Certificate

“Spire Barristers have used a focus on wellbeing to review policies which contribute to member and staff wellbeing. Having first got the basics right – a policy and support in place for those who need it – they are now building up activity, looking at what already works in chambers and doing more of it”.
